13 May 2009 - New Marketing Specialists, The Carrier Group, Launches at National Tourism Event
Leading marketing and communications company Carrier Direct Marketing chose the Tourism Management Institute's annual "Hot Topic" Conference, which took place last week in Birmingham , to launch a new group image, structure and services.
To be known as "The Carrier Group", the company, which was set up by Bob Carter in North Devon 15 years ago, has come of age and is the main sponsor of TMI events for the next 3 years in a groundbreaking sponsorship deal worth in excess of £30,000.

"This sponsorship deal cements and builds our commitment to the TMI and its overall aims and objectives within the profession of tourism management" says Bob. "We have come a long way in our fifteen year history, growing with the fast moving times in destination management, and are therefore very pleased to continue our longstanding commitment to TMI and their 300 members from across the UK. At this Hot Topic event we will be launching our new company structure which more accurately reflects the very diverse range of services we now provide for destinations."
2008 was a very important year for Carrier which celebrated its 15th year in business with the launch of a brand new company website and attainment of ISOs 9001, 14001 and 18001, for quality, environment and health & safety. "All this culminated in one of the best years for new client business, with destinations such as Blackpool, Bournemouth, Camarthenshire, Cornwall and Guernsey all coming on board", said Bob.
Now, THE CARRIER GROUP (www.thecarriergroup.co.uk) will consist of CARRIER DIRECT MARKETING to deliver its core services of mailing and fulfilment, whilst CARTER COMMUNICATION will be focussing on providing professional resources to destinations in the form of project management, guide production and emarketing delivery. The Group also includes well established market research specialists CUSTOMER MAZE.

This year looks set to be another milestone year with the appointment of Ian Parkington as Senior Project Manager under the Carter Communication banner of the company; A former Business Development Director for a leading design agency and Head of Marketing at Northumbria Tourist Board, Ian's arrival has already attracted new brochure production contracts such as leading nationwide cottage holidays group Premier Cottages and a new tourism research project for the resort of Worthing as part of their strategic tourism development. Ian is joined in the Carter Communication team by e-marketing specialist James Briggs and online and DMS expert Dawn Sims.
Bob Carter commented "Our decision to expand our team and target growth through the recession is already paying off. With our continued investment in talent and service development, and the complete revamp of our software system at a six figure cost, our strategy is already bearing fruit".
